Mataram, University of Mataram – (Sunday, July 4, 2024) UPA Bahasa UNRAM’s participation in the National Workshop I of the Language Service Scientific Forum (FILBA) at the University of Medan was not solely aimed at gaining knowledge and the latest information regarding language service development. UPA Bahasa UNRAM also had another mission: to forge mutually beneficial collaborations with other UPA/UPT (Academic Support Units/Technical Implementing Units) across Indonesia.

As the saying goes, “kill two birds with one stone,” this was demonstrated through the signing of five partnership agreements between UPA Bahasa UNRAM and five language support units from various universities in Indonesia. The agreements established were:
- Partnership Agreement between UPA Bahasa Universitas Mataram and the Language Center of Universitas Muhamaddiyah Surabaya on Education, Research, and Community Service in the Field of Language.
- Partnership Agreement between UPA Bahasa Universitas Mataram and UPA Bahasa Universitas Gorontalo on Education, Research, and Community Service.
- Partnership Agreement between UPA Bahasa Universitas Mataram and UPA Bahasa Universitas Tadulako on Education, Research, and Community Service.
- Partnership Agreement between UPA Bahasa Universitas Mataram and UPT Bahasa Universitas Palangka Raya on Education, Research, and Community Service.
- Partnership Agreement between UPA Bahasa Universitas Mataram and UPT Bahasa Universitas Borneo Tarakan Raya on Education, Research, and Community Service.
Applause is in order for the Head of UPA Bahasa Universitas Mataram, Ms. Boniesta, as the signing of these agreements took place not only in formal settings but also in more casual environments. Interestingly, the agreement with the Language Center of Universitas Muhamaddiyah Surabaya was signed at a restaurant during dinner following an excursion.

What’s next after establishing these five partnership agreements? Naturally, these agreements are not just pieces of paper. The Head of UPA Bahasa Universitas Mataram had previously been invited as a speaker at the TOEFL ITP Preparation Training organized by UPT Bahasa Universitas Borneo Tarakan. The signing of these agreements serves as the initial step and legal foundation for UPA and UPT Bahasa to carry out their collaborations as mutually agreed upon. The heads of UPA Bahasa Universitas Mataram and the signing UPA/UPT have committed to implement these agreements into tangible activities as soon as possible.
Plans are already underway for UPT Bahasa Universitas Borneo Tarakan Raya to conduct benchmarking activities at UPA Bahasa Universitas Mataram. It is hoped that this benchmarking will pave the way for a series of collaborative efforts in the future.
