UPA Bahasa Conducts Evaluation and Coordination Meeting for 2024 Activities

Friday, December 6, 2024 – UPA Bahasa UNRAM held an evaluation and coordination meeting attended by coordinators and staff from various divisions within the unit. The meeting aimed to assess the implementation of activities in 2024 and strategize steps to support the success of UPA Bahasa programs in 2025. Each coordinator provided brief updates on their respective areas of responsibility and progress.

Material Development and Testing

The Coordinator for Material Development and Testing (Ms. Tatik) shared updates regarding the implementation of UMEPT 2024 and other tests such as TOEFL ITP and IELTS. She reported that this year’s UMEPT ran smoothly and highlighted efforts made to address challenges, as well as improvements in the execution and evaluation of test results. Plans for developing UMEPT questions in 2025 were also discussed.

Course Programs and Instructors

The Coordinator for Course Programs and Instructors (Ms. Desy) presented updates on the ongoing language courses. UPA Bahasa’s courses, which cover various skill levels, have seen an increase in enrollment, leading to a growing demand for instructors. Moving forward, curriculum adjustments and the introduction of more specific course types tailored to market needs are planned. She also emphasized the importance of continuous professional development for instructors through ongoing training.

Quality Assurance and Public Relations

The Coordinator for Quality Assurance and Public Relations (Ms. Tya) outlined recent developments in social media and marketing efforts. The division is working to strengthen public relations and enhance communication through various media channels. Feedback received has prompted efforts to intensify marketing within UNRAM’s internal environment.

Bilingualization and Translation

Bilingualization and translation faced no significant challenges in 2024. Translation training facilitated by UPA Bahasa, in collaboration with LBI FIB UI, has significantly enhanced the competence of translators within UPA Bahasa UNRAM.

General Administration and Finance Team

The Coordinator for General Administration and Finance (Mr. Ahmad) provided updates on the smooth implementation of administrative and financial management. All financial reports have been processed in compliance with established procedures and ensured transparency. Efforts are also underway to improve administrative efficiency through the utilization of technology for data and document management.

Discussion Session

All staff members were given the opportunity to share their input on administrative processes and service delivery. Suggestions included improving the speed of service for course participants and developing a more integrated administrative system. Staff were also encouraged to share any challenges or issues encountered during their work.

Overall, the evaluation and coordination meeting proceeded smoothly and with great enthusiasm. Each coordinator and staff member contributed positively to formulating strategic steps for 2025. With better coordination and enhanced program quality, it is hoped that UPA Bahasa will continue to grow and provide greater benefits to learners, instructors, and the wider community.
