Mataram, Universitas Mataram — On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, the University of Mataram (UNRAM) held the PKKMB (Introduction to Campus Life for New Students) event for the new cohort of 2024. This event took place at the M. Yusuf Abubakar Auditorium at UNRAM. PKKMB is an important moment for new students to adapt to the campus environment, meet their peers, and understand various aspects of academic and social life at UNRAM. During the event, new students received information about the curriculum, facilities, and various activities they will participate in throughout their studies at the university.
The focus of today’s event was to introduce the institutions and organizations that support academic activities and the administration of the University of Mataram, as well as their roles in supporting students. The Language Support Unit (UPA) of the University of Mataram was one of the UPA participants in this event. The introduction session for UPA Bahasa UNRAM was led by the Head of UPA Bahasa, Mrs. Boniesta Zulandha Melani, M.A., Ph.D., affectionately known as Mrs. Boniesta.
During the 30-minute introduction session, Mrs. Boniesta presented UPA Bahasa UNRAM, discussing its functions and roles, its essence in supporting UNRAM’s vision, graduation requirements and English language score criteria, language course programs, and tests offered, as well as an introduction to the sireg system for registering for the UMEPT test. A highlight of this session was the question-and-answer segment, where five students who answered correctly received door prizes in the form of UPA Bahasa souvenirs.
